Honest reviews about New Bond Street Pawnbrokers

How we value your Rolls-Royce

Call us or fill in the form on our website

You can start pawning your Rolls-Royce by making an initial enquiry online (by filling in our contact form), by email, by phone, or in person at our pawn shop in Mayfair, Central London (just off Oxford Street).

We can review the car’s basic details and history file in advance, but the final loan amount is confirmed only after a specialist car pawnbroker has inspected the Rolls-Royce and its supporting documents. To avoid delays, please send as much of the following as possible:

– Model, year, registration number and chassis/VIN number
– Engine, gearbox and coachwork or body numbers, where known
– Clear images of the exterior, interior, rear passenger compartment, engine bay, underbody and coachbuilder plaque
– Factory build information, coachbuilder correspondence and Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club or marque-register records
– Service records, restoration invoices, specialist reports and recent mechanical assessments
– Ownership history, chauffeur logs, estate documentation, diplomatic history or other notable provenance
– Previous auction catalogues, concours records, period photographs and valuation reports
– V5C, proof of ownership and evidence of comprehensive insurance

Following inspection, agreement of the valuation and completion of the paperwork, money is normally transferred to your bank account that day—often within two to four hours. No credit check is required, as the loan is secured against the Rolls-Royce rather than your income or borrowing record.

The standard term is two to seven months, with interest fixed at 5% per month. You may end the agreement early by repaying the amount borrowed plus the interest due at that point; no separate early-redemption charge applies.

Please contact us before travelling to collect the car so we can calculate the current amount payable and arrange a handover. Once the loan is settled, your Rolls-Royce will be released with its keys, service history, coachbuilder and provenance records, manuals, tools, mascot, fitted luggage and any other accompanying items. If you need to continue beyond the agreed date, contact us in advance to discuss an extension or renewal, subject to agreement.

2. Review Classic Cars

Our car pawn shop specialists assess each Rolls-Royce as an individual collector object. The value of a coachbuilt Silver Ghost, a Phantom II Continental, a Silver Cloud Drophead Coupé and a modern Phantom is shaped by different evidence.

For a quick loan using your Rolls-Royce vehicle as collateral, our appraisal may consider:

– Chassis number, engine number, gearbox number and body number.
– The precise chassis type, wheelbase and factory specification.
– Coachbuilder, body style and whether the body is original to the chassis.
– Factory build records, Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club material, marque-register research and period photographs.
– Original colour scheme, upholstery, wood veneers, dashboard fittings, division screen and passenger compartment.
– Condition of the chassis, engine, gearbox, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical system.
– Originality of features such as Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, lamps, instruments, luggage, fitted tool kit and interior fittings.
– Quality and extent of restoration, including whether body, chassis and interior work are properly documented.
– Ownership history, chauffeur records, royal or diplomatic association, exhibition history and prior auction catalogues.
– Current auction sales for truly comparable cars, accounting for coachwork, originality and condition.

In brief, our automotive experts examine your Rolls-Royce car at a secure location, assessing rarity, historical significance, condition, and market demand. Using auction-based car valuations, we ensure a pinpoint appraisal of your vehicle, based on current resale value and auction prices.

3. Agree Loan Amount

Generally, you can expect a loan offer in the range of 50 to 70% of your Rolls-Royce automobile valuation, based on auction prices and current resale value. We always aim to present a fair loan offer based on our expert valuation of your Rolls-Royce.

Our classic car pawnbrokers will discuss terms and valuation while ensuring transparency at all times. If you’re happy with our collateral loan offer, we will proceed to the final step.

4. Receive Payment

Upon agreement, we send a same-day bank transfer that often arrives within 2 to 4 hours. We store your car in a safe West End location used by the top auction houses during the term of your loan.

FAQs

Yes. Our car pawnbrokers consider collateral loans against classic, collector and selected modern Rolls-Royce models, including:

– Silver Ghost, 20 HP, 20/25 HP, 25/30 HP and Phantom I–III models.
– Pre-war coachbuilt cars with bodies by Barker, Park Ward, Hooper, Mulliner, James Young, Gurney Nutting, Thrupp & Maberly and other recognised coachbuilders.
– Silver Cloud I, II and III models.
– Silver Shadow, Corniche, Camargue and Phantom VI models.
– Silver Spirit, Silver Spur, Mulsanne and related late-20th-century cars.
– Modern Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Dawn, Cullinan and selected Black Badge models.
– Coachbuilt Rolls-Royce cars, one-off commissions and cars with significant original specification.
– Formal chauffeur-driven limousines, landaulettes and touring bodies.
– Cars with documented royal, diplomatic, aristocratic, film or significant collector provenance.

Yes. At our automobile pawn shop provenance can materially influence the value and loan suitability of a Rolls-Royce, especially for formal pre-war cars, limousines, landaulettes and important coachbuilt models. A well-documented chauffeur, household, diplomatic or aristocratic history can help establish how the car was used, maintained and preserved.

Relevant records our classic car lenders will ask for can include:

– Original order forms, build sheets and delivery correspondence.
– Chauffeur logs, mileage books, service diaries and household garage records.
– Registration documents, ownership records and estate papers.
– Photographs of the car with its original owner, household, staff or official use.
– Royal, diplomatic, embassy, state or ceremonial documentation.
– Coachbuilder correspondence, restoration records and specialist invoices.
– Previous auction catalogues, concours entries, marque-register notes and published history.
– Period accessories, luggage, fitted picnic sets, tool rolls, mascots and original handbooks.

For a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, the rear compartment is often as significant as the engine bay. Original division glass, intercom equipment, folding occasional seats, vanity fittings, picnic tables, silk blinds and correct leather or cloth upholstery can all contribute to the car’s historic integrity.

You will need to demonstrate ownership and provide documentation that allows our auto pawnbrokers to identify, authenticate and value the specific Rolls-Royce.

Please provide, where available:

– Valid photographic identification.
– V5C registration certificate or relevant overseas registration papers.
– Proof of purchase and ownership history.
– Chassis number, engine number, gearbox number and body number.
– Factory build records, Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club material, marque-register records and coachbuilder documentation.
– Original order forms, delivery correspondence and historical registration records.
– Service books, MOT history, maintenance invoices and recent engineering reports.
– Restoration files, photographs, parts lists and invoices.
– Chauffeur logs, estate records, ownership correspondence and provenance materials.
– Previous auction catalogues, concours records, valuation reports and period photographs.
– Original keys, handbooks, tools, fitted luggage, mascots and other supplied accessories.
– Details of any outstanding finance, lien, estate issue, company ownership or third-party interest.
– Evidence that comprehensive insurance will be maintained during the loan term.

Your Rolls-Royce is placed in secure storage for the life of the agreement. As it is the asset securing the loan, it cannot remain in circulation. On a Rolls-Royce, use during the loan could change the condition and completeness assessed at the outset, including:

– Wear to the engine, brakes, suspension, tyres and cooling system
– Exposure of paintwork, chrome, coachlines and body seals to weather or road damage
– Deterioration of folding hoods, landaulette equipment, division glass and other period fittings
– Wear to original leather, veneers, carpets, headlining and rear-compartment details
– The historic integrity of a coachbuilt, chauffeur-driven or provenance-led car
– Loss, replacement or damage to original tools, fitted luggage, manuals, mascot and supporting documents

When the Rolls-Royce is received, we make a condition record and log the mileage, keys and accompanying materials. This may include service files, factory or coachbuilder documents, tools, fitted luggage, handbooks and the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot where applicable. The handover and storage arrangements are handled discreetly.

Lastly, you must keep comprehensive insurance in force for the Rolls-Royce’s full value for the duration of the loan.

We provide collateral loans agains all models of Rolls Royce, particularly the classic and vintage models. Examples of some models we lend against include:

1. Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow

The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is one of the brand’s most recognisable classics. It introduced innovations like disc brakes and a more compact, unitary body, making it easier to live with than earlier Rolls models while still delivering that signature dignified presence. Inside, you get rich wood veneers, deep leather, and a sense of occasion every time you pull away.

From a pawn and classic‑car loan perspective, the Silver Shadow sits in a sweet spot. It is desirable and collectible, yet not so rare that it is impossible to value or insure, which helps luxury pawnbrokers underwrite loans against it with confidence. Well‑kept examples have a strong enthusiast market, with typical UK secondary‑market prices ranging from around £10,000 for usable cars to £60,000+ for the best examples. Of course, much depends on factors like history and condition, which give luxury pawnbrokers a clear value range when structuring pawn loans on Silver Shadows.

2. Rolls-Royce Corniche

The Rolls-Royce Corniche is the archetypal open-top luxury cruiser. It blends elegant lines with a relaxed, effortless driving experience that still turns heads in the modern era. With smooth V8 power, soft suspension, and an exquisitely trimmed cabin of wood and leather, the Corniche offers classic Rolls “waft” in a glamorous, Riviera‑ready package.

This mix of rarity, brand heritage, and enduring desirability makes the Corniche a strong option for luxury collateral lending and loans on classic cars at high‑end pawn shops. Well‑maintained, low‑mileage cars have a solid underlying value, and iconic models like this are easier for lenders to appraise and resell if needed, which supports competitive pawn‑loan offers. That translates into attractive short‑term finance from prestige pawn shops and specialist lenders for owners looking to release funds without giving up the car permanently. In the UK, Corniche values typically start in the mid‑£20,000s, with many good examples in the £35,000–£60,000 band and top convertibles exceeding that in exceptional condition, giving luxury pawnbrokers plenty of room to offer meaningful loans against these cars.

3. Rolls-Royce Phantom VI

The Rolls-Royce Phantom VI is an ultra‑exclusive limousine representing the more ceremonial, traditional side of the brand. Built largely to special order and often used by royalty and heads of state, the VI combines imposing coachbuilt bodywork with a smooth V8 and a cabin that feels more like a private drawing room than a car.

Those qualities make the Phantom VI appeal to a global pool of high‑end collectors. Additionally, there is clear demand and a trackable auction history, which supports larger loan amounts and bespoke structured lending for clients who wish to pawn a Phantom VI without permanently parting with it. Recent data suggest Phantom VI values often cluster around a median of roughly £75,000, with some cars changing hands from the mid‑£30,000s up to well over £500,000 for the very best, giving lenders scope for substantial, secured loans against this model.

4. Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is the classic image many people picture when they think of a traditional Rolls, thanks to its long, graceful lines, a tall grille, and a beautifully proportioned saloon body. Produced from the mid‑1950s to the mid‑1960s, it combines stately looks with a smooth six‑cylinder (later V8) engine, a soft, floating ride, and a richly appointed interior of wood and leather.

That blend of beauty, heritage, and usability is why Silver Cloud owners can secure a meaningful short‑term pawn loan, with the car held as security while you access liquidity, and the option to redeem and continue enjoying a genuine British icon. Depending on variant and condition, UK prices typically run from around £40,000 for usable cars to well into six figures for top‑tier or coachbuilt examples, allowing luxury pawnbrokers to offer significant loans against well‑presented Silver Clouds.

5. Rolls-Royce Phantom VII

The Rolls-Royce Phantom VII relaunched Rolls-Royce for the modern era and still feels like a rolling VIP suite. Its 6.75‑litre V12 and aluminium spaceframe deliver huge, effortless performance while remaining exceptionally quiet and composed, even on the motorway. Inside, it blends traditional wood and leather with modern tech and endless bespoke options, so each car feels highly individual.

That mix of presence, craftsmanship, and modern usability translates into relatively high, predictable loan values and strong lender confidence, allowing you to unlock significant funds while keeping the option to reclaim a still‑current‑feeling flagship via a pawn on your Rolls-Royce.

In the UK, Phantom VII saloons often trade for roughly £90,000–£100,000, with late, low‑mileage or highly specified cars commonly advertised well into the £150,000–£200,000+ range, providing a solid basis for sizable pawn loans.

6. Rolls-Royce Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is the “driver’s” Rolls-Royce, blending traditional luxury with a more understated, contemporary look. It offers a remarkably smooth V12, superb sound insulation, and a beautifully crafted cabin, making it effortless to use daily while still feeling genuinely special.

Those strengths mean the Ghost can unlock significant short‑term liquidity while preserving the option to redeem and keep a highly capable, modern luxury saloon, rather than selling it. Current UK asking prices frequently fall in the roughly £100,000–£250,000 bracket, depending on age, mileage, and spec, which underpins substantial loans on this model.

7. Rolls-Royce Wraith

The Rolls-Royce Wraith is the coupé that proves Rolls-Royce can do drama as well as discretion, thanks to its mix of classic luxury with a genuinely powerful, engaging drive. Its twin‑turbo V12 delivers huge, effortless acceleration, yet the air suspension and sound insulation keep the ride smooth and composed, so you get grand‑tourer performance without sacrificing comfort.

That blend of performance, style, and exclusivity helps support strong resale interest and healthy loan values when used as collateral. As a relatively modern model with good parts and service support, the car can be more confidently assessed for its condition and future desirability, making it easier to arrange short‑term pawn loans against it.

Used Wraiths in the UK typically change hands from around £120,000 at the lower end to £250,000 or more for late or highly specified examples, giving luxury pawnbrokers scope to advance substantial sums against them.

8. Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the brand’s first SUV and delivers true Rolls-Royce luxury with go‑anywhere capability. It combines a powerful twin‑turbo V12 with all‑wheel drive and air suspension, so it feels smooth, quiet, and composed whether you’re in town or on rougher terrain.

Those attributes make the Cullinan one of the strongest candidates for modern luxury car pawnbroking and collateral lending on high‑end SUVs. Its relatively recent introduction, modern tech, and robust support network also give lenders confidence about long‑term desirability and maintenance, helping them justify higher advance rates on short‑term pawn loans secured against Cullinans.

On the secondary market, UK Cullinan prices commonly span from around £250,000 to well over £350,000, depending on age, mileage, and specification, which supports very high‑value loans from luxury pawnbrokers.

9. Rolls-Royce Spectre

The Rolls-Royce Spectre is the brand’s first fully electric coupé, bringing the traditional Rolls “magic carpet” experience into the EV age. It uses a powerful dual‑motor setup with a large battery to deliver strong, effortless acceleration, near‑silent running, and impressive real‑world range, all in a sleek fastback body with huge presence.

These qualities make the Spectre a compelling car for next‑generation luxury collateral lending and EV‑friendly pawn shops. As an early, flagship electric Rolls, it sits at the cutting edge of technology and status, supporting strong demand among high‑net‑worth EV buyers.

Early UK listings and estimates often sit in the broad £300,000–£450,000 band, reflecting both its list price and early‑adopter demand, which underpin sizable collateral loans on the Spectre.

10. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is one of the most exclusive cars ever built. The hand‑crafted, coachbuilt grand tourer was created in microscopic numbers for a tiny group of ultra‑wealthy clients, making it a rare treat in the classic car pawnbroker space. It uses the aluminium Architecture of Luxury platform and a 6.75‑litre twin‑turbo V12, but almost everything else is bespoke, from the sweeping, yacht‑inspired rear deck to unique body panels and nautical design cues.

Rarity and craftsmanship are exactly why the Boat Tail is so powerful as an ultra‑high‑end pawn asset in theory, even though only a handful of ultra‑niche luxury pawnbrokers could ever handle such a loan.

Although there is no normal market, public commentary places the Boat Tail’s value in the region of £20–£25 million, or more, depending on specification and client commission, which would in turn support uniquely large, custom‑negotiated loans in which a Boat Tail is used as collateral.

If you are anywhere in or near Central London our pawn shop for Rolls-Royce cars is probably one of the nearest to you – we are located nearby Oxford Street, New Bond Street, Bond Street, Piccadilly Circus, Marble Arch, Green Park, Mayfair and other. You can bring your Rolls-Royce to our Central London location in Mayfair for an in-person appraisal and free valuation. Alternatively, we offer a secure in-home appraisal too, for specific circumstances.

Useful Guides
